Drawing on lived experience and community-informed examples, we will explore accommodations at risk of being inconsistently understood, such as flexibility around seasonal ceremonial responsibilities, recognition of extended kinship structures in bereavement policies, and benefits models that include traditional wellness practices. Participants will collaborate online to consider how institutional policies can shift from symbolic inclusion to meaningful responsiveness. The session acknowledges the diversity of Indigenous identities and affirms that supports must be flexible rather than rooted in a one-size-fits-all approach.
