SWPP Program:

Science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and Business in Aviation and Aerospace; with a focus on Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Technician, Avionics.

Who Qualifies:

Full-time student currently registered in a STEM or business program in aviation and aerospace at a Canadian post-secondary education (PSE) institution.

Requirements for Students:

Be a full-time student currently registered in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) or business program at a Canadian post-secondary education (PSE) institution
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold refugee status; PARTICIPANTS ON A STUDENT VISA AND/OR WORK PERMIT ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.
Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
Consent to release employment information to CCAA and the Government of Canada periodically during the placement and after the end of the placement.
Provide proof of PSE enrollment/transcript.
Complete and sign the Participant/Student form.

Wage Subsidies:

Employers can receive wage subsidies of up to 50 percent of the wage cost for the placement (up to a maximum of $5,000 per placement) and up to 70 percent (up to a maximum of $7,000 per placement) for under-represented students including first-year students, women in STEM, Indigenous students, persons with disabilities and newcomers. Employers will be provided subsidies based on the net new student work placements for the current year, i.e. the number of work placements in the previous year will be used as a baseline and only applications for work placements exceeding that number will be considered. Job placement must be full-time work, with a minimum of 12 weeks.
