When will modules 2 and 3 be available?
Modules 2 and 3 are now open for registration.
Why are there two steps?
In most professional fields, certifications and/or designations are generally reserved for those actively practicing in the field, as well as those possessing professional association membership. CEWIL Canada would like to offer CEWIL WIL Practitioner Certification to our membership, while also offering the training to a broad audience. The modules contain information that is valuable to many that work in the WIL ecosystem, that may not be interested in WIL practitioner certification, but for whom the information would have immense value.
Can I complete just one module, or do I have to do all three?
Learners are not required to complete all three modules. Module 1 on Quality WIL is a pre-requisite for completing the other modules. However, learners do not need to take module 2 (Student engagement) in order to complete module 3 (employer/host organization engagement) or vice-versa.
Is there a time limit on when I have to complete a module once I have registered?
Modules are completely asynchronous, however they must be completed within three months of enrolling in the module.
Do I have to complete a specific module first?
Yes, the first module on Quality WIL must be completed prior to enrolling in any of the other modules.
Can I register for Module # 2 or #3 if I am currently enrolled but haven't completed Module #1?
Yes, you can register in subsequent modules as long as you are currently enrolled or have completed Module #1.
How do I pay for each module?
For the first cohort of learners, if you are chosen to start January 31 you will be sent a unique link to register for the course and pay through the CEWIL website. After the first cohort, registration and payment will be made through the CEWIL website.
How do these modules differ from the Global WIL Modules?
Both programs are rich in quality and learning but contain unique content and differing delivery modes. The Global WIL modules are offered in a cohort model, bringing practitioners together as a community of practice to view WIL from a global perspective. The CEWIL modules have a Canadian focus, are completed asynchronously and include practical application in addition to theory and research. They are complementary rather than competitive.
Will the modules be offered in French?
We are currently looking at various modes of delivery for these modules to best suit the needs of French-speaking WIL practitioners.
How long after completing the modules do I have before I can apply for certification?
There is no waiting period to apply for certification once you complete the modules.
