It’s more important than ever before to celebrate the achievements of our students! Whether working remotely or in-person, students across the country have shown incredible resilience and fortitude this past year. CEWIL Canada is looking for a university student and a college student that was outstanding in co-op or other forms of WIL in the past year (2021) and you can help! Completed nominations must be received by Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 11:59pm (EST). Learn more online here.

CEWIL WIL Directory
CEWIL is excited to announce that it is expanding is co-op program directory to include all of CEWIL’s nine types of work-integrated learning (WIL). Launched on January 10, 2022, CEWIL is spearheading a nation-wide collaboration with member institutions to start populating comprehensive public WIL directory. Not only will this project act as a relaunch of CEWIL’s traditional co-op directory but for the first time it will also feature all 9 types of WIL. This compendium will provide a multitude of benefits including:
- A resource to navigate the post-secondary institution (PSI) landscape of WIL offerings to students, businesses, and community/industry partners
- The ability for members to identify potential collaborations
- A central repository for post-secondary institutions to promote their WIL programs on a national level
Institutions are being asked to kindly submit their file(s) by February 25, 2022. Should you have any questions about the project or the submission process, please contact Dan Lonergan ([email protected]).
We are excited to announce the release of the first CEWIL Canada WIL e-book, The Practice of Co-op and Work-Integrated Learning in the Canadian Context, which is available on the CEWIL Canada website here.
Research Webinar Series
The CEWIL Research Series is a collection of presentations by WIL scholars across Canada. Over four webinars, the Series will feature eight research papers published in The Practice of Co-op and Work-Integrated Learning in the Canadian Context (2021) . The Series will also begin and end with brief presentations on amplifying and engaging in WIL research. To learn more and register, click here.
Indigenous post-secondary students from across Canada can now participate in our newly launched entrepreneurship training programs that are built on a model of Indigenized business education and experiential learning. Training includes Indigenous world views on entrepreneurship, innovation management processes, and the skills and competencies required for success in entrepreneurship.
Hosted by St. Paul’s University College at the University of Waterloo, these training programs are delivered online and supported by a team of mentors and community members from the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre and GreenHouse—a nationally recognized social impact incubator.
