Position Details

Career Bridge Centre for Work-integrated Learning and Career Development is currently seeking a full-time (continuing) Co-op Coordinator and WIL Instructor. The start date for the position is July 1, 2022.

Combining academic programs, career services, and the My Experience Transcript platform, Career Bridge is a multifaceted team of experts and service providers working together to support WIL, EL, and Career Development across campus.

Applicants should hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (a master’s degree is preferred) in addition to prior experience in co-operative education and/or work- integrated learning. Demonstrated experience implementing WIL opportunities within the Fine Arts and Humanities is an asset. Applicants must possess excellent team and interpersonal, communication and listening skills, public speaking, teaching and presentation skills; a demonstrated passion for work-integrated learning; a proven ability to solve problems and mediate as well as to work effectively within shifting deadlines and priorities. Some travel may be required.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Academic Director, and in collaboration with the Career Bridge team including co-op coordinators, the career services team, the My Experience Transcript (MET) advisor, as well as internal and external stakeholder groups.

Duties will include teaching, evaluating, recruiting, supervising, and assessing students involved in the Cooperative Education & Applied Studies programs, developing positive working relationships with employers, engaging with work-integrated learning pedagogy and curriculum development; and maintaining a high level of professionalism, commitment, and sensitivity to the needs of all partners in the program. The successful candidate will support students and stakeholders in these activities through individualized guidance, correspondence, workshops and presentations, and will be expected to acquire a working and evolving knowledge of academic requirements, job preparation skills, career counseling, and the labour market. Responsibilities will also include related administrative duties, as well as participation in related recruitment and retention initiatives.
