Opportunity
MacEwan university is searching for an Events & Database Assistant for our Careers & Experience department. This position is the subject matter expert for the department’s main information systems: responsible for ongoing development and configuration of the ORBIS (career platform) & Highre (virtual events) systems,, adding & configuring new modules and user groups, escalating technical issues to the vendor. The successful incumbent will work with new & existing employer clients, guiding and supporting them in recruitment activities at MacEwan.
This position is responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordination, promotion, and invoicing of campus recruitment events such as career fairs, employer info sessions in person and virtual.

Problem solving to determine the source of a problem and find an effective solution to troubleshoot users access challenges

Works independently using own judgment to make decisions on achieving specific goals and to make decisions and planning and executing the services and programs our department has to offer

Strong Interpersonal skills and Oral Communication skills for strong relationship building with clients from various backgrounds

Strong teamwork and collaboration by building relationships with internal contacts and external organizations

Analytical skills on statistical data for database and events reporting

Ability to communicate concisely in written and verbal forms to diverse audiences and to coach

Numeracy skills for event and financial reporting
Qualifications
-
Minimum of 2 years of event management to ensure the ability to be reflective, innovative and creative in event design and delivery with enough depth of experience to trouble shoot issues as they arise

Minimum of 2 years of Orbis administration experience (specifically in Career, appointment, events, experiential learning and coop modules)
-
Minimum of 2 years of data analysis, business process reconfiguration, and elicitation and documentation of business requirements
-
Strong customer service skills and experience balancing the competing needs of diverse client and stakeholder groups
-
Previous experience supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining configuration for a post-secondary CRM system is preferred
-
Knowledge on post-secondary student recruitment lifecycle in order to recommend and suggest to community partners
